utilizando sensibilidad, especificidad, VPP y VPN.
45.63%, no mostrando significancia.
preeclampsia. | es_PE |
dc.description.abstract | Objective: To identify whether Mean Platelet Volume (MPV) and Platelet/Lymphocyte
Ratio (PLR) serve aspredictors of preeclampsia severity at the Regional Hospital of Cusco
during the period 2020 – 2023.
Materials and Methods: A non-experimental, analytical, case-control, cross-sectional,
retrospective, and quantitative study using data from clinical records. The population
included 158 patients classified as cases (PE with severity criteria) and controls (PE without
severity criteria). Tests such as Mann-Whitney U and chi-square were applied to examine
the relationship with the severity of preeclampsia. A logistic regression model was
developed with significant predictive markers, and its accuracy was evaluated using
sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value
(NPV). The model's ability to distinguish between cases of severe and non-severe
preeclampsia was assessed using ROC and AUC, identifying an optimal point with the
Youden test.
Results: The Mean Platelet Volume (MPV) as an indicator reveals an Area under the Curve
(AUC) of 0.6259 (95% CI: 0.57 – 0.74). The optimal cutoff point for MPV was established
at ≥ 9.5 to identify cases of severe preeclampsia, with a sensitivity of 42.86% and a
specificity of 78.33%. The Positive Predictive Value (PPV) was 76.36%, and the Negative
Predictive Value (NPV) was 45.63%, showing no significance. Regarding the
Platelet/Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR) as an indicator, an Area under the Curve (AUC) of 0.7112
(95% CI: 0.62-0.79) was found. A PLR value < 115.493 is considered positive for
preeclampsia with severity criteria, with a sensitivity of 69.57% and a specificity of 65.15%.
The Positive Predictive Value (PPV) was 73.56%, and the Negative Predictive Value (NPV)
was 60.56%, being statistically significant.
Conclusions: The Platelet/Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR) identified statistically significant
differences, indicating its potential utility in predicting the severity of this disease. | en_US |
