Estudio descriptivo de la gestión de colas en el área operacional de cajas de la Empresa Plaza Vea – Real Plaza Cusco - 2023

El presente trabajo de investigación se desarrolló en la empresa Plaza Vea cuya razón social es
Plaza Vea Oriente S.A.C. ubicado en el Real Plaza Cusco, teniendo como objetivo general
conocer el sistema de colas dentro del Área Operacional de cajas, tomando como dimensiones
las características de un sistema de colas en el cual se analiza tres partes: Las llegadas o entradas
al sistema, La cola o la línea de espera y La Instalación de servicio, el cual describe y analiza
la problemática que se muestra, describiendo la cantidad de personas que llegan al sistema de
servicio, número de clientes en la fila o cola, cantidad de personas que rechazan, renuncian y
reciben el servicio, tiempo de llegadas entre clientes al sistema de colas, tiempo de llegadas del
cliente al servidor, tiempo de atención del cliente en el servidor, numero de servidores
habilitada para la atención, disposición de filas, numero de fases para completar la operación
y la regla de atención de clientes en la fila, el presente trabajo desarrolla cada punto
mencionado de acuerdo al objetivo general propuesto, la investigación cuenta con un enfoque
cuantitativo, un diseño de investigación no experimental, y un alcance de estudio descriptivo,
el instrumento de la investigación fue aplicada a la totalidad de los clientes atendidos en el área
de cajas por 7 días consecutivos en los horarios establecidos que fueron turno mañana de 11.00
am a 12.00 pm y en el turno tarde 5.00pm a 6.00 pm durante el periodo de 7 días desde el lunes
6 de noviembre de 2013 al domingo 12 de noviembre de 2023. Teniendo las seis fichas de
observación aplicadas llegando a los siguientes resultado: cuenta con una fuente de entrada
infinita, la cantidad total de personas que ingresaron al sistema de servicio de 3191, el número
de clientes en la fila o cola fueron 1636 de cual 76 clientes rechazaron al sistema de colas, 91
clientes renunciaron al sistema de colas, en los tiempos de espera de clientes se tuvo en
promedio en las cajas rápidas 10 minuto 07 segundos – cajas autoservicio 1 minutos 02 segundo
– cajas generales 14 minutos 86 segundo, el número de servidores habilitados para la atención
en las cajas autoservicios son habilitados para la atención el 100%, las cajas rápidas tuvieron
habilitados el 40%, las cajas generale el 35 % de los servidores, en la disposición de filas se
tuvo cajas rápidas y cajas autoservicios un diseño de una sola fila con servidores múltiples y
las cajas generales con un diseño de múltiples filas con servidores múltiples, el número de fases
para completar la operación fue de un sola fase con un orden de atención para los tres tipos de
cajas fue: “primero en entrar, primero en salir” (FIFO, frist – in, first – out) y con una
instalación de servicios que cuenta con 31 cajas instaladas para la atención de los clientes. This research work was developed in the company Plaza Vea whose company name is Plaza
Vea Oriente S.A.C. located in the Real Plaza Cusco, with the general objective of knowing the
queuing system within the Cashier Operational Area, taking as dimensions the characteristics

develops each mentioned point according to the proposed general objective, the research has a
quantitative approach, a non-experimental research design, and a descriptive scope of study,
the instrument of the investigation was applied to all the clients served in the cashier area for 7
consecutive days at the established times, which were the morning shift from 11:00 am to 12:00
pm and the afternoon shift from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm during the period of 7 days from Monday,
November 6, 2013 to Sunday, November 12, 2023. Having applied the six observation cards,
the following results were obtained: it has an infinite input source, the total number of people
who entered the service system was 3191, the number of customers in the line or queue was
1636, of which 76 customers rejected the queuing system, 91 customers renounced the queuing
system, the average customer waiting times were 10 minutes 07 seconds at express checkouts
– self-service checkouts 1 minute 02 seconds – general checkouts 14 minutes 86 seconds, the
number of servers enabled for service at self-service checkouts are enabled for service 100%,
express checkouts were enabled for 40%, general checkouts were enabled for 35% of the
servers, in the arrangement of lines there were express checkouts and self-service checkouts a
single-row design with multiple servers and the general checkouts with a multiple-row design
with multiple servers, the number of phases to complete the operation was a single phase with
an order of attention for the three types of checkouts was: “ first in, first out” (FIFO, frist – in,
first – out) and with a service facility that has 31 boxes installed for customer service.
