dc.description.abstract | Objetivo. Identificar los niveles de actividad física en los estudiantes de Medicina
Humana de una Universidad Particular en Cusco, 2023, además de ver si existe relación
con el género y año académico. También identificar la presencia de sedentarismo y su
relación con el género y año académico. Materiales y Métodos. Estudio de tipo
Descriptivo – Transversal. Se aplicó el Cuestionario Internacional de Actividad Física
Versión Corta (IPAQ) a 300 estudiantes de la Carrera Profesional de Medicina Humana
de una Universidad Particular en Cusco, durante el periodo Agosto – Diciembre 2023,
para recolectar información sobre el tiempo que dedican a la realización de Actividad
Física según nivel de intensidad y el tiempo que dedican al sedentarismo. Resultados. El
76.6% de estudiantes de Medicina Humana realiza actividad física, el 43.3% en un nivel
moderado, y el nivel de actividad física alto en un 33.3%. Además, el 23.3% no realiza
actividad física o no realiza la suficiente. No se evidenció diferencias en la práctica de
Actividad Física según género (p = 0.147) o año de estudios (p = 0.864). Por otro lado,
se observó que el 78.7% de estudiantes presenta sedentarismo, siendo en mayor
proporción en el género femenino con un 80.6%, versus 76.0% en el género masculino;
en cuanto al año académico se evidencia mayor prevalencia en los estudiantes del 5to año
con 86.0% y en menor proporción en los estudiantes de sexto año con 68.0%. No se ha
evidenciado diferencia estadísticamente significativa en cuanto al sedentarismo según
género (p = 0.341) o año académico (p = 0.318). Conclusiones. Más del 76% de
estudiantes de medicina humana de una universidad particular en Cusco, Perú realiza
actividad física en niveles moderado y/o alto sin diferencia por género o año académico.
Además, el 23.3% realiza actividad física en un nivel bajo o no realiza actividad física.
El sedentarismo está presente en el 78.7% de los estudiantes, sin diferencia por género o
año académico. Finalmente, se evidencia que existe sedentarismo en todos los niveles de
actividad física sin importar la cantidad de actividad que realizan. | es_PE |

Conclusions. More than 76% of human medicine students from a private university in
Cusco, Peru perform physical activity at moderate and/or high levels without difference
by gender or academic year. Furthermore, 23.3% perform physical activity at a low level
or do not perform physical activity. A sedentary lifestyle is present in 78.7% of students,
without difference by gender or academic year. Finally, it is evident that a sedentary
lifestyle exists at all levels of physical activity regardless of the amount of activity they
