dc.description.abstract | El objetivo del presente trabajo de investigación es describir y analizar las representaciones
sociales sobre la práctica de la lactancia materna. Se trata de un estudio de diseño cualitativo
y enfoque fenomenológico, constituido por una muestra de 24 puérperas elegidas por
criterios de selección y limitadas por la técnica de saturación. Se realizó una entrevista semi
-estructurada a puérperas post parto vaginal y en alojamiento conjunto en el Servicio de
Maternidad del Hospital Regional del Cusco. La metodología de análisis utilizada fue el
Análisis fenomenológico interpretativo, para el que se plantearon tres categorías de estudio:
1) Profesional de salud apoya la práctica de la lactancia materna; 2) influencia de los mitos
y creencias de la familia amigos y medios de comunicación en la práctica de la lactancia
materna y 3) Significado y beneficios de la lactancia materna. Los resultados muestran un
promedio de edad de 27 años y mayormente de procedencia urbana, nivel educativo
secundario y amas de casa. Las representaciones sociales identificadas sobre la práctica de la
lactancia materna son: En la primera categoría: “Trato autoritario y actitud indiferente”,
“Apoyo e información insuficiente” y “Primer contacto insatisfactorio”; en la segunda
categoría: “A través de la leche pasa todo” por influencia de familiares y amigo , “Mitos y
creencias, condicionan la lactancia materna” por influencia de familiares amigos y “medios
de comunicación, informan poco y causan temor”; y, en la tercera categoría: “Alimentar y
proteger con sentimientos divergentes” y “Beneficia al recién nacido y a la madre” | es_PE |
dc.description.abstract | The objective of this research work is to describe and analyze the social representations about
the practice of breastfeeding. This is a study with a qualitative design and a
phenomenological approach, consisting of a sample of 24 puerperal women chosen by
selection criteria and limited by the saturation technique. A semi-structured interview was
carried out with puerperal women after vaginal delivery and in rooming-in at the Maternity
Service of the Regional Hospital of Cusco. The analysis methodology used was the
Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis, for which three study categories were proposed: 1)
Health professional supports the practice of breastfeeding; 2) influence of myths and beliefs
of family, friends and the media on the practice of breastfeeding and 3) Meaning and benefits
of breastfeeding. The results show an average age of 27 years and mostly from urban origin,
secondary educational level and housewives. The social representations identified about the
practice of breastfeeding are: In the first category: "Authoritarian treatment and indifferent
attitude", "Insufficient support and information" and "Unsatisfactory first contact"; in the
second category: “Everything happens through milk”, “Myths and beliefs condition
breastfeeding” and “the media report little and cause fear”; and, in the third category:
