subrasante. | es_PE |
dc.description.abstract | The main objective of this research is to evaluate the influence of applying Barley Bran Ash
in different percentages on the physical-mechanical properties at the subgrade level, in this
specific case applied to the Yaurisque-San Juan de Taray highway; verifying that the soil
meets the minimum requirements to be considered material that can be used at the subgrade
level, all of this specified in the parameters of the Peruvian standards. Our hypotheses will be
demonstrated through laboratory tests, which are: consistency limit tests (liquid limit, plastic
limit and plasticity index), humidity-density relationship (Modified Proctor) and Support
Capacity of California CBR.
Also, it was possible to demonstrate that the present investigation had satisfactory results,
although the improvement is not much after all Barley Bran Ash additive improved physicalchemical
properties of
the
soil
about
which
it
was
applied.
Something
else
that
is
important
to
stand
out
is
that
Barley
Bran
Ash
was
obtained
as
recycled
material
from
the
waste
from
craft
breweries in
the
city of
Cusco.
The
research has a quantitative approach, since the results obtained were analyzed using
variable quantifiers. Furthermore, all hypotheses were developed before the development of
the trials.
This research focuses only on soil samples obtained from the Yaurisque-San Juan de Taray
highway, so the effectiveness of these results on other types of soil is not guaranteed. Barley
Bran Ash was used in different percentages: 10%, 15% and 20%, with the most favorable
results in the dosage of 10% barley bran ash where the highest result for the CBR is seen with
a value of 15.58%, however it was not enough to be able to recategorize the sample,
maintaining it as good subgrade (S3) according to the Peruvian Highway Manual (2013).
In addition, something to highlight is the high presence of silica within Barley Bran Ash at
58.30%, magnesium (10.90%), calcium (8.10%), aluminum (8.26%), iron (3.20%) that favor
the improvement of the physical-chemical properties of the soil at the subgrade level. | en_US |
