dc.description.abstract | La falta de conocimiento y experiencia en el cuidado de pacientes con COVID-19, ha
llevado a una situación de constante cambio conceptual y actitudinal en el personal de
enfermería, por ello el presente trabajo de investigación titulado “EXPERIENCIAS DE
ENFERMERAS SOBRE EL CUIDADO A PACIENTES HOSPITALIZADOS POR
COVID-19 EN LA UNIDAD DE CUIDADOS INTENSIVOS DEL HOSPITAL
ADOLFO GUEVARA VELASCO DEL CUSCO, 2022.” tuvo como objetivo: conocer
las experiencias de las enfermeras sobre el cuidado a pacientes hospitalizados por
COVID-19 de la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital Adolfo Guevara Velasco
del Cusco, siendo esta una investigación de tipo cualitativo, teniendo una muestra de 17
enfermeras especialistas en el cuidado de la salud que trabajan en el Hospital Adolfo
Guevara Velasco del Cusco y que cumplen con los criterios de inclusión. Los resultados
muestran que la atención al paciente, la protección de los profesionales de la salud, la
rigurosa implementación de protocolos y la capacitación constante son pilares esenciales
en el funcionamiento de la organización. Asimismo, se revela la importancia de la
responsabilidad individual y colectiva, la promoción de una seguridad extrema, la
protección del personal y la adecuada utilización de Equipos de Protección Personal
(EPP) en el contexto de medidas de prevención. Además, evidencia la importancia de la
solidaridad, la empatía, la inseguridad, el trabajo en equipo y el miedo en las relaciones
que se desarrollan en el equipo de cuidado. A nivel personal, familiar y social una serie
de factores cruciales influyen en la vida de los enfermeros, entre estos elementos se
destacan el orgullo, el coraje, la impotencia, el aislamiento y el miedo. Dentro del
contexto del balance positivo/negativo que experimentan los enfermeros en su profesión,
se reconoce la influencia de factores clave, como la empatía, la experiencia, el apoyo y el
miedo. En conclusión: Se destaca la importancia de la capacitación, protocolos, protección y atención al paciente en la organización, junto con la relevancia de la
bioseguridad. La seguridad extrema, la responsabilidad, la protección y el uso de equipos
de protección personal son elementos esenciales para la experiencia protectora. La
solidaridad, la inseguridad, el trabajo en equipo y el miedo son aspectos presentes en las
relaciones dentro del equipo de cuidado personal, siendo la empatía y la organización
factores clave en estas interacciones. Además, el orgullo, el aislamiento, la impotencia y
el miedo son factores que afectan el coraje. La empatía, la experiencia, el apoyo y el

dc.description.abstract | The lack of knowledge and experience in the care of patients with COVID-19 has led to
a situation of constant conceptual and attitudinal change in nursing staff, which is why
this research work entitled “NURSES' EXPERIENCES ABOUT CARE OF PATIENTS
HOSPITALIZED BY COVID-19 IN THE INTENSIVE CARE UNIT OF THE ADOLFO
GUEVARA VELASCO HOSPITAL IN CUSCO, 2022.” The objective was: to know the
experiences of nurses regarding the care of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in the
Intensive Care Unit of the Adolfo Guevara Velasco Hospital in Cusco, this being
qualitative research, having a sample of 17 nurses specializing in health care workers who
work at the Adolfo Guevara Velasco Hospital in Cusco and who meet the inclusion
criteria. The results show that patient care, protection of health professionals, rigorous
implementation of protocols and constant training are essential pillars in the operation of
the organization. Likewise, the importance of individual and collective responsibility, the
promotion of extreme safety, the protection of personnel and the appropriate use of
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the context of prevention measures is revealed.
Furthermore, it shows the importance of solidarity, empathy, insecurity, teamwork and
fear in the relationships that develop in the care team. At a personal, family and social
level, a series of crucial factors influence the lives of nurses, among these elements pride,
anger, helplessness, isolation and fear stand out. Within the context of the
positive/negative balance that nurses experience in their profession, the influence of key
factors is recognized, such as empathy, experience, support and fear. In conclusion: The
importance of training, protocols, protection and patient care in the organization is
highlighted, along with the relevance of biosafety. Extreme safety, responsibility,
protection and the use of personal protective equipment are essential elements of the
protective experience. Solidarity, insecurity, teamwork and fear are aspects present in the relationships within the personal care team, with empathy and organization being key
factors in these interactions. Additionally, pride, isolation, helplessness, and fear are
factors that affect courage. Empathy, experience, support and fear are elements that
