muestran comportamientos tipo ansiosos reducidos y comportamientos tipo depresivos
The present investigation aimed to determine how mild chronic stress (LCS) influences
anxious and depressive-like behaviors in adult mice of two inbred strains, BALB/c and
C57BL/6NCrl. For this, 106 male (n=51) and female (n=27) mice of the BALB/c strain and
28 male (n=13) and female (n=15) adult mice of the C57BL/6NCrl strain were used. which
were exposed to an ECL protocol for 5 weeks. To measure anxious-type behaviors, two
behavioral tests were used: the light-dark box test and the elevated plus maze test. Likewise,
to measure depressive-type behaviors, behavioral tests were used: splash test (apathy), forced
swimming test, and the suspension test by the tail. Data were analyzed using the ANOVA
statistical test. The results showed well-defined baseline differences in anxiety-like and
depressive-like behaviors between both strains, with male and female BALB/c mice showing
reduced anxiety-like behaviors and increased depressive-like behaviors compared to C57BL/
strain mice. 6NCrl. Exposure to the ECL protocol reduced anxiety-like behaviors in male
mice of both strains, but had no effect on anxiety-like behaviors in females of either strain.
