generar mayores desplazamientos y aceleraciones.
| es_PE |
dc.description.abstract | The present research work performs a comparative analysis of the efficiency of a linear tuned
mass damper (AMS), placed in the last level of a four-level steel structure, with and without
the incorporation of the Mass Damper. Tuned. To evaluate its dynamic behavior against
external movements (base excitation), the displacement and acceleration experienced by the
structure without Tuned Mass Damper at its last level were taken as base values for comparison,
where the larger displacements and accelerations.
To carry out the experimental tests, a four-level metal structure of Shear Building type was
built, considering the technical specifications for the material of Aceros Arequipa, which has a
wide range of applications in the field of structures. The base excitation of the structure was
carried out by means of a self-constructed unidirectional vibrating table.
The structure is made up of four levels, the base excitation direction was considered to be on
the lateral side of the structure with less rigidity, which is more susceptible to generating greater
displacements and accelerations. The construction of the seismic table occurred because in the
area of the city of Cusco there are no laboratories that are implemented with a vibrating table
to carry out studies in relation to base excitation.
The most unfavorable lateral stiffnesses of the main structure are: 20,594 N/cm for the first
level and 25,330 N/cm for the rest of the levels; the concentrated mass for each rigid diagram
are: 5.26 kg for the first floor, 5.11 kg for the second and third floors, and 5.49 kg for the fourth
floor, with a total mass of 20.97 kg for the main structure, generating vibration frequencies of
3.68Hz, 10.73Hz, 16.70Hz and 20.72Hz.
The Tuned Mass Damper is formed by the following mass percentages of the total structure:
4.32%, 4.38%, 5.98% and 7.33%, and the stiffnesses used are: 4.65 N/cm for the first, 4.72
N/cm for the second, 6.31 N/cm for the third and 7.61 N/cm for the fourth. The Tuned Mass
Damper that has best tuned with the structure is for the third mass with a frequency of 3.06 Hz,
generating a frequency ratio of 0.96.
The base excitation was carried out in the self-built unidirectional table, which provides a torque
of 6.6 Nm generated by a Nema 34 Step Motor. The main structure was excited in a frequency
range of 3.00Hz to 3.60Hz, in order to generate the structural resonance effect.
Data collection was carried out using sensors: displacement VL53L0X and acceleration
MPU6050, available in the national market, controlled by ARDUINO and MATLAB software.
The incorporation of the Tuned Mass Damper in the main structure has shown an efficiency in
the reduction of displacements in the order of 82.52%, 83.13%, 85.41% and 85.41% in relation
to the main structure without control, reaching a total lateral displacement. at the last level of
6.58 cm. Another advantage of the Tuned Mass Damper over the main structure is the reduction
of accelerations in the rigid diaphragms, experiencing a maximum acceleration of 20.20 m/s2;
the Tuned Mass Damper has shown an efficiency in the reduction of accelerations of 44.06%,
47.41%, 58.33% and 55.89%, providing the Tuned Mass Damper with comfort to the
inhabitants of the main structure during seismic events. | en_US |
