In the following research work presented, the main problem is to know how the reduction of the
term for the recognition of the de facto union would benefit the defense of the rights of the
vulnerable cohabiter in the Sicuani district, as well as its objective is to describe how the
reduction of the term for the recognition of the de facto union would benefit the defense of the
rights of the vulnerable cohabiter in the Sicuani district, for which it was carried out using a
non-probabilistic sample, some surveys of the people who come living together and that are
related to this union in fact. The research design is quantitative because there will be a diagnosis
and an analysis of the social, political and legal issues that would generate the recognition of the
de facto union in a shorter time in favor of the surviving partner, and that will be given through
statistical techniques According to the surveys conducted, one of the results explains that 75
percent considered that the deadline for the legalization of a de facto union is excessive and that
it should be reduced for the legal protection of the rights of the vulnerable cohabiter, while only
25 percent indicated that it is not excessive. So it is concluded that this period should be reduced
and that it would benefit the participants in this de facto union.
