At present, within our environment, the amount of road works, such as roads, bridges and others, is increasing, the aforementioned projects are often involved in areas with soils with coarse granulometric content, therefore, professionals in this field are in the obligation to have a greater knowledge about the physical-mechanical characteristics of soils with coarse granulometry, such as resistance to shear stress, which implies the need to know and study alternative methodologies that allow the estimation of shear resistance and the behavior of soils with particles of considerable size. Among the difficulties encountered for the characterization of soils made up of large particles, is the lack of large-scale equipment for shear resistance tests, another difficulty is the high cost and time that these tests demand, because they are not within reach in our local market, for what has been described we will rely on the methodology of parallel curves (homothetic granulometry) and thus be able to evaluate the physical-mechanical characteristics of the material that constitutes the support slope of the Mayunmarca bridge. Our research work focuses on evaluating the stability of the slope based on the granulometric variation of the support soil of the Mayunmarca bridge in the Quiquijana district, the use of the parallel curves methodology enables said granulometric variation to obtain sub representative samples, which will be subjected to conventional direct shear tests, in this way we will determine the physical-mechanical properties of the slope, different granulometric conditions (variation of maximum particle size), the values of friction angle and cohesion coefficient obtained by The direct cutting tests will flange different safety factors, thus we will evaluate the stability of the slope, in the different granulometric conditions described.en_US
