terceros molares mandibulares. | es_PE |
dc.description.abstract | The objective of the research was to determine the characterization of mandibular
third molars in digital panoramic radiographs in patients aged 8 to 40 years from
the Ceradent Cusco 2016-2018 dental diagnostic radiological center. A
descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional and observational study was carried
out, the sample consisted of 302 digital panoramic radiographs, grouped by
gender and age, having three age groups: 8 to 20 years, 21 to 30 years and 31
to 40 years of age. The results indicated that: according to the presence and
absence of mandibular third molars; According to gender, on both sides there is
a greater presence in the male gender and an absence in the female gender, with
no significant relationship; According to age, for both sides there is a greater
presence in the group of 8 to 20 years, and absence in the age group of 31 to 40
years, and a significant relationship (p <0.05). According to the Pell and Gregory
classification and Winter classification, class I position A prevails on both sides,
and vertical position in the female gender and age group of 21-30 years.
According to the position of the mandibular third molar Regarding the presence
or absence of adjacent molars, the vertical position prevails in the presence of
both molars in the ages 8-30, with mesioangulated position in the absence of both
adjacent molars in the 31-40 age group. According to the root shape of the third
molars, there is a higher prevalence on the right side, the straight and distal
mesial root curved mesially; on the left side there is a greater prevalence of the
fused root. Concluding that, there is a significant predominance of the presence
of third molars according to age, but not by gender. The most prevalent
classification is class I position A; Furthermore, according to the position of the
third molar in relation to the adjacent molars, there was a prevalence of both
adjacent molars with vertical position in the ages of 8 to 30 years, and absence
of both molars with mesioangular position in the group of 31 to 40 years;
Regarding the morphology of the roots, a varied shape of the mandibular third
molars was identical. | en_US |
