Edad de inicio de la alimentación complementaria y su efecto en el estado nutricional de niños menores de 1 año, en el Centro de Salud de San Juan Bautista - Ayacucho 2015.

El diseño de investigación utilizada fue descriptivo - correlacional y de corte transversal. La población y muestra estuvo conformada por el promedio de madres con hijos menores de 1 año atendidos en los últimos 3 meses en el servicio de Crecimiento y Desarrollo de Centro de Salud San Juan Bautista - Ayacucho, cuyo valor es 95.
Resultados: el 44.2% de niños menores de 1 año atendidos en el centro de salud San Juan Bautista tuvieron inicio precoz en la alimentación complementaria, por otro lado, el 67.4% presentaron estado nutricional normal y el 32.6%, desnutrición aguda. Se halló significancia estadística entre la edad de inicio de la alimentación complementaria y el estado nutricional del niño menor de 1 año. El 75.7% de las madres tienen entre 20 a 35 años de edad, 57.9% son primíparas, 43.2% tienen nivel de instrucción secundaria, 62.1 % son de procedencia urbana y 71.6%, un nivel socioeconómico bajo.
Conclusiones: El 44.2% de niños menores de 1 año iniciaron precozmente la alimentación complementaria. Un porcentaje importante (32.6%) presentaron desnutrición aguda y se halló relación entre la edad de inicio de la alimentación complementaria y el estado nutricional del menor de 1año. The design of the research used was: descriptive - correlational and cross-sectional. The population and sample consisted of average mothers with children under one year, who received medical care the last 3 months at Growth and Development Health Center San Juan Bautista - Ayacucho, which value is 95.
Results: On one hand, 44.2% of Children under 1 year, who received medical care at the Health Center of San Juan Bautista, had early commencement of complementary feeding, on the other hand, 67.4% had normal nutritional status, and 32.6 % revealed acute malnutrition. The statistical significance was presented between the age of onset of complementary feeding and the nutritional status of children under 1 year. The 75.7% of mothers have 20-35 years, 57.9% first-time pregnant women, 43.2% secondary education level, 62.1% from urban areas with 71.6% low socioeconomic status.
Conclusions: The 44.2% Children under 1 years had early commencement of complementary feeding. A significant percentage (32.6%) had acute malnutrition and the study also found a link between the age of onset of complementary feeding and the nutritional status of children under 1 year.
