dc.description.abstract | Introducción: El VIH/SIDA es un problema de salud pública que afecta la vida de 39.87
millones de personas en el mundo. Inicialmente, la epidemia afectó principalmente a
hombres, pero según datos actuales, 57% de los infectados con VIH/SIDA son mujeres.
Donde el 35% de pacientes no se adhieren antirretroviral por los eventos adversos y el
50% de los pacientes crónicos cumplen con su tratamiento; la mala adherencia es
responsable de entre el 5 y 10% de los ingresos hospitalarios, 2,5 millones de urgencias
médicas y 650 000 fallecimientos anual. El programa de PROCET del Hospital Regional
tiene 615 pacientes con VIH que reciben terapia antirretroviral, de ellos, más del 40% no
se adhiere a la terapia, por los eventos adversos que producen.
Objetivo: Determinar relación entre los eventos adversos y la adherencia terapéutica
antirretroviral, en pacientes con VIH atendidos en el Hospital Regional Del Cusco, enero
– diciembre 2021-2022.
Materiales y Métodos: El diseño de estudio fue de cohorte retrospectivo. El muestreo
fue no probabilístico y por conveniencia. Para el análisis estadístico se usó el cálculo del
RR y chi cuadrado y para el ajuste se realizó una regresión logística multivariada con las
variables: eventos adversos, adherencia terapéutica, edad, sexo y grado de instrucción. Se
revisaron 615 registros clínicos siendo nuestra muestra por control de sesgo 296 pacientes
cumpliendo los criterios de inclusión. Resultados: Existe una relación entre los eventos adversos y la adherencia terapéutica
con RR: 2.053; IC 95% (1.332-3.165); p=0.003, siendo los eventos gastrointestinales los
más relevantes con un 29.4% dentro de ellas las náuseas y dolor abdominal, seguido del
evento psiquiátrico con 21.2% con la depresión, el fármaco Efavirenz (23.8%) junto con
la zidovudina (23%) son los responsables de producir mayores eventos adversos; los
pacientes no se adhieren al tratamiento en un 76.4%.
Conclusiones: se demostró que, si existe relación entre los eventos adversos y la
adherencia terapéutica antirretroviral, en pacientes con VIH atendidos en el Hospital
