The objective of this work is to describe the epidemiological characteristics of patients with
a diagnosis of abortion treated at the Cusco Regional Hospital in 2019. For this study, the
descriptive scope was used, with a non-experimental design; The sample is probabilistic,
made up of 236 women, and documentary collection was used as a technique for data
collection. The results allow us to conclude that: The sociodemographic characteristics of
patients with a diagnosis of abortion allow us to conclude that 25.4% of the patients who
have undergone abortion are women who are in adulthood; generally these abortions
occurred in independent workers (39.4%). The patients who have suffered an abortion are
those who reside in the urban area (61.0%) which have insurance that is the Comprehensive

of Cusco . Gyneco-obstetric characteristics presented by patients with induced abortions; In
gestational age, the patients suffered an abortion in the first trimester of their pregnancy,
where 38.6% of the patients are first-time and the majority (85.6%) suffered at least one
abortion. Prenatal controls were carried out (82.6%) being a risk for the health of the mother
and the baby. The different diagnoses of abortion attended to are spontaneous abortion,
which is the most prevalent in patients (81.8%), where the majority indicate that the type of
abortion was incomplete, however, 93.6% had no complications. The epidemiological
characteristics of patients with a diagnosis of abortion were divided into three:
