A pesar
This research seeks to identify the impact that agricultural extension services have had
on the development of the agricultural sector of the Cusco region in 2017. Agricultural
extension services, despite having a positive impact on agricultural development, are
very limited and reach few producers, in fact, only 10% of the agricultural units have
received technical assistance. Despite its limited development, it is hypothesized that
agricultural extension services have positive effects on production, income level and
market access for producers in the Cusco region. Theories of public extension services
and agricultural development also predict positive effects of technical assistance in the
rural area of the country. The research is correlational and not experimental. The
information from the National Agricultural Survey (ENA) of the National Institute of
Statistics and Informatics (INEI) is used to estimate four linear regression models and
estimate the effect of extension services on income, production, the number of good
practices agricultural and market access. It has been found that having received
technical assistance increases production per kilogram per year by 50.4 kilos, increases
income of 1,267 soles and has an effect of 0.221 on access to new markets, all results
are statistically significant.
