RESUMEN 
El tema de pandemia ocasionada por el brote del COVID-19 cambió el estilo de vida de 
todos porque tenemos la necesidad de protegernos con mascarillas, mamelucos, guantes, 
etc. pero sin darnos cuenta estamos generando desechos de bioseguridad que no sabemos 
cómo estos deben de ser tratados teniendo en cuenta que no existen cantidades exactas 
del consumo diario por ciudadano pero está claro que así como se efectúa la adquisición 
de dichos  elementos de la misma manera se producen desechos que no solo vienen siendo  
nocivos para el ser humano sino que también lo es para el medio ambiente. 
En mención a ello se tiene que tomar en consideración que últimamente la importación, 
producción y distribución de mascarillas guantes, micas y otros instrumentos de 
protección son excesivos pues la preocupación y/o desesperación de las personas traen 
como consecuencia un alto porcentaje de consumismo respecto de estos instrumentos de 
prevención ante el COVID-19. 
Es así que la Municipalidad Provincial del Cusco debería de tomar en consideración que, 
estos desechos ya son parte de los domésticos por falta de información, así como de 
conocimiento de cada ciudadano por ello se debería de accionar mediante un protocolo 
y/o políticas de recojo de desechos tóxicos y/o nocivos no sólo para la salud e integridad 
de los ciudadanos cusqueños, sino que también para el medio ambiente.

ABSTRACT 
The pandemic issue caused by the COVID-19 outbreak changed everyone's lifestyle 
because we have the need to protect ourselves with masks, jumpsuits, gloves, etc. but 
without realizing it we are generating biosecurity waste that we do not know how these 
should be treated taking into account that there are no exact amounts of daily consumption 
per citizen but it is clear that as well as the acquisition of said elements in the same way 
they are produced Waste that is not only harmful to humans but also to the environment. 
In reference to this, it must be taken into consideration that lately the importation, 
production and distribution of masks, gloves, goggles and other protection instruments 
are excessive since the concern and / or despair of people result in a high percentage of 
consumerism with respect to these prevention instruments against COVID-19. 
Thus, the Provincial Municipality of Cusco should take into consideration that these 
wastes are already part of the household due to lack of information, as well as knowledge 
of each citizen, therefore it should be activated through a protocol and / or collection 
policies. of toxic and / or harmful waste not only for the health and integrity of Cusco 
citizens, but also for the environment.
