RESUMEN 
La presente tesis se encuentra dentro de la rama de Transportes en los cursos de Vialidad y 
Transporte para determinar el nivel de servicio peatonal del área delimitada por las calles:  Tres 
Cruces de Oro, Calle Nueva, Cruz Verde, Matará y Belén de la ciudad del Cusco. 
La ciudad del Cusco tiene una conformación mono céntrica, con un centro histórico y comercial 
que genera mucha actividad peatonal y presenta características muy particulares en cuanto a 
movilidad peatonal, pues el centro histórico ha priorizado el espacio para el uso del automóvil, 
el cual cuenta con aceras muy angostas. 
Es por ello que surge la necesidad de realizar el estudio para determinar los niveles de servicio 
peatonal que ofrece la infraestructura peatonal utilizando la metodología del HCM 2010, que 
agrega a la tradicional medida de desempeño del área disponible por peatón una segunda 
medida de calidad de servicio, relacionado con los volúmenes, velocidad y separación lateral 
del tránsito adyacente. 
Dando como resultado que los niveles de servicio de las calles estudiadas son menores a C a 
excepción de la Calle Belén que mantiene sus niveles de servicio B y C en la actualidad y a 10 
años en el futuro. Por lo que se dio una propuesta de mejora priorizando la movilidad peatonal, 
con dicha propuesta los niveles de servicio peatonal de las calles estudiadas fueron mejoradas 
a niveles de servicio peatonal mayores a C.

ABSTRACT 
The present thesis it’s inside of the specialty of Transportation in the subjects of Roads and 
Transportation to determine the pedestrian service level of the area bounded by: Tres Cuces de 
Oro Street, Nueva Street, Cruz Verde Street, Matará Street, Belén Street y Tecte Street of 
Cusco. 
The city of Cusco has a monocentric conformation, with a historical and commercial center that 
generates a lot of pedestrian activity and has very particular characteristics in terms of 
pedestrian mobility, because the historic center has prioritized the space for the use of the 
automobile, which has counts narrow sidewalks. 
That is why the need arises to conduct the study to determine the pedestrian level of service 
offered by the pedestrian infrastructure using the HCM 2010 methodology, which adds to the 
traditional measure of performance of the area available for pedestrian a second measure of 
quality of service , related to the volumes, speed and lateral separation of the adjacent transit. 
Giving as a result, that the service levels of the streets studied are less than C, except for Belén 
Street, which maintains service levels B and C at present and 10 years in the future. So it was 
given an improvement proposal prioritizing pedestrian mobility, with this proposal the 
pedestrian service levels of the streets studied they are improved to pedestrian service levels 
greater than C.
