RESUMEN 
El presente estudio intitulado “NIVEL DE CONOCIMIENTO SOBRE NEUMONÍA 
EN MADRES DE NIÑOS MENORES DE 5 AÑOS QUE ACUDEN AL CENTRO 
DE SALUD DE COMBAPATA, CANCHIS, CUSCO - 2017”. El objetivo del 
presente estudio fue determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre neumonía en 
madres de niños menores de 5 años que acuden al Centro de Salud de 
Combapata, Canchis, Cusco – 2017. 
El diseño metodológico fue descriptivo y transversal, la población de estudio 
estuvo constituida por 70 madres de niños menores de 5 años, que acuden al 
Centro de Salud de Combapata.  
La técnica utilizada fue la entrevista y el instrumento fue la encuesta. 
De los resultados obtenidos en la investigación: 43% de las madres tienen una 
edad de 26-30 años, 43% tienen el grado de instrucción de secundaria, 40% 
tienen una ocupación de agricultora, 64% hablan el idioma castellano y quechua, 
51% tienen de 1 a 2 hijos; en relación al concepto de la neumonía 53% de las 
madres conoce que es la neumonía; 37% tienen conocimiento sobre las formas 
de contagio; 40% conocen las causas de la neumonía, 46% conocen sobre los 
signos de peligro, 40% conoce las complicaciones de la Neumonía, 46% conoce 
el sobre las medidas de prevención, 74% conocen donde debe acudir si el niño 
presenta Neumonía, 48% conoce la alimentación de sus niños con neumonía, 
44% conoce sobre el hacinamiento, 43% conoce sobre la importancia de las 
vacunas, 33% tiene nivel de conocimiento bueno ; 53% regular y 14% malo 
Conclusiones: 53% de las  madres de niños menores a 5 años que acuden al 
Centro de Salud Combapata es regular.

ABSTRACT 
 The present study entitled "LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT PNEUMONIA IN 
MOTHERS OF CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS OF AGE WHO COME TO THE HEALTH 
CENTER OF COMBAPATA, CANCHIS, CUSCO - 2017". The objective of the present 
study was to determine the level of knowledge about pneumonia in mothers of children 
under 5 years of age who attend the Health Center of Combapata, Canchis, Cusco - 2017. 
The methodological design was descriptive and transversal, the study population was 
constituted by 70 mothers of children under 5 years old, who go to the Combapata Health 
Center. The technique used was the interview and the instrument was the survey. Of the 
results obtained in the research: 43% of mothers have an age of 26-30 years, 43% have a 
high school education degree, 40% have a farmer occupation, 64% speak Spanish and 
Quechua, 51 % have 1 to 2 children; in relation to the concept of pneumonia, 53% of 
mothers know what pneumonia is; 37% have knowledge about the forms of contagion; 
40% know the causes of pneumonia, 46% know about the danger signs, 40% know the 
complications of pneumonia, 46% know about prevention measures, 74% know where to 
go if the child has pneumonia, 48 % know about feeding their children with pneumonia, 
44% know about overcrowding, 43% know about the importance of vaccines, 33% have 
good knowledge level; 53% regular and 14% bad . 
Conclusions: 53% of mothers of children under 5 years of age who attend the Combapata 
Health Center are regular.
