RESUMEN 
 
La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar el nivel conocimiento 
sobre los factores de riesgo en la atención dental de los estudiantes de la Clínica 
Odontológica “Luis Vallejos Santoni” UAC – 2018. El diseño corresponde a un 
estudio observacional, transversal, descriptivo y de enfoque cualitativo. Se 
realizó mediante la aplicación de un cuestionario con un total de 25 preguntas, 
que se les aplico a 120 estudiantes del total de 150 del VII, VIII, IX semestres de 
la Clínica “Luis Vallejos Santoni”. Se evaluaron 5 aspectos: Riesgos físicos, 
riesgos químicos, riesgos biológicos, riesgos ergonómicos, riesgos 
psicosociales. Se puede ver que el nivel de conocimiento sobre riesgos en 
atención dental es deficiente con un 70%, seguido de un conocimiento regular 
con un 30% y finalmente bueno con un 0%. El nivel de conocimiento sobre 
riesgos físicos es deficiente con un 69%, el nivel de conocimiento sobre riesgos 
químicos es deficiente con un 66,7%, el nivel de conocimientos sobre riesgos 
biológicos es deficiente con un 85,0%, el nivel de conocimientos sobre riesgos 
ergonómicos es regular con un 67,5%, el nivel de conocimientos sobre riesgos 
psicosociales es regular con un 71,7%. Se concluyó que el nivel de 
conocimientos de los estudiantes sobre riesgos en la atención dental es 
deficiente en un 70%.

SUMMARY 
 
The objective of the present investigation was to determine the level of knowledge 
about the risk factors in the dental care of the students of the Dental Clinic "Luis 
Vallejos Santoni" UAC - 2018. The design corresponds to an observational, 
cross-sectional, descriptive study with a qualitative approach . It was carried out 
by applying a questionnaire with a total of 25 questions, which was applied to 120 
students out of the total of 150 of the VII, VIII, IX semesters of the "Luis Vallejos 
Santoni" Clinic. Five aspects were evaluated: Physical risks, chemical risks, 
biological risks, ergonomic risks, psychosocial risks. You can see that the level 
of knowledge about risks in dental care is deficient with 70%, followed by regular 
knowledge with 30% and finally good with 0%. The level of knowledge about 
physical risks is deficient with 69%, the level of knowledge about chemical risks 
is deficient with 66.7%, the level of knowledge about biological risks is deficient 
with 85.0%, the level of knowledge about ergonomic risks is regular with 67.5%, 
the level of knowledge about psychosocial risks is regular with 71.7%. It was 
concluded that the level of knowledge of students about risks in dental care is 
deficient by 70%.
