RESUMEN 
 
En vista que la violencia intrafamiliar se ha convertido en un problema de salud 
pública nacional, que trae graves consecuencias sociales, económicas y sobretodo 
emocionales, el presente trabajo de investigación, describe los niveles de Inteligencia 
Emocional Social de las mujeres víctimas de violencia familiar que acuden a las 
defensorías municipales del niño, niña y adolescente de la provincia del Cusco. La 
situaciones de maltrato doméstico, generan en las victimas, la fragmentación de sus 
capacidades emocionales de respuesta en su diario vivir, es por ello que se buscó 
identificar y describir la inteligencia emocional social de estas mujeres, a través del 
análisis de cada uno de los componentes y subcomponentes de esta capacidad 
emocional, en base a los fundamentos teóricos establecidos por Bar On (2014), 
quien menciona que "la Inteligencia Emocional Social, es la relación de emociones 
interconectadas a las competencias sociales y personales, que hacen posible la relación 
con el entorno”. Siguiendo una metodología no experimental transversal de diseño 
descriptivo simple, se halló que ocho de cada diez mujeres víctimas de violencia 
poseen una Inteligencia Emocional Social extremadamente deteriorada, esto indica 
que no han logrado desarrollar competencias y habilidades socioemocionales 
adecuadas que les permitan enfrentarse al agresor,  al entorno y en general a los 
problemas de la vida desde el primer momento. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
ABSTRACT 
 
The domestic violence has become a national public health problem, that brings 
serious social, economic and above all emotional consequences in sight of this, the 
present research seeks to describe the levels of Social Emotional Intelligence of 
female victims of domestic violence who come to the Defensorías Municipales 
del Niño, Niña y Adolescente in the province  of  Cusco.  The  situations  of  
victims  domestic  abuse  generate  in  them fragmentation of emotional response 
capabilities in their daily lives, which is why we sought to  identify  and  describe  
the  social  emotional  intelligence  of  these  women,  through  the analysis of each 
of the components and subcomponents of this emotional capacity, based on the 
theoretical foundations established by Bar-On (2014), who mentions that “the 
Social Emotional  Intelligence,  is  the  relationship  of  emotions  with  
interconnected  social  and personal skills, that make the relationship possible with 
the environment”. Following a non- experimental methodology of simple 
descriptive design, it found that eight out of ten female victims of domestic 
violence have an extremely deteriorated Social Emotional Intelligence, which 
indicates that they have failed to develop suitable skills  to enable them to face 
their aggressor, the  environment and, the general problems of life.
