RESUMEN 
La presente investigación busca conocer la relación entre el clima social escolar y la 
autoestima en estudiantes de 5to grado de secundaria de la Institución Educativa Mateo 
Pumacahua, en el año 2017. Una investigación descriptivo-correlacional transversal, 
bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, en la que se trabajó con una muestra de 458 estudiantes, 
los cuales fueron evaluados mediante la Escala de Clima Social Escolar CES y el 
Cuestionario de Autoestima de Coopersmith. Los resultados obtenidos demostraron que, 
al 95% de confiabilidad mediante la prueba estadística de correlación de Pearson, existe 
relación significativa entre el clima social escolar y la autoestima, donde p = 0,001. De 
tal forma se concluye que un clima social escolar favorable predispone a una mayor 
autoestima en los estudiantes, optimizando así tanto su rendimiento académico, como 
sus relaciones con sus pares escolares, docentes y autoridades institucionales. Lo cual 
permite afirmar que desarrollar un clima social escolar positivo, permite mejorar la 
autoestima de los estudiantes.

ABSTRACT 
The present research seeks to know the relationship between the social school climate 
and self-esteem in fifth grade students of the educational institution Mateo Pumacahua, 
in the year 2017. A descriptive research-correlational cross-sectional, under quantitative 
approach, in which we worked with a sample of 458 students, which were evaluated 
using the Scale of Social climate at school ESC and the questionnaire of self-esteem of 
Coppersmith. The results showed that, at 95% of reliability by means of Pearson's There 
is a significant relationship between the school's social climate and  self-esteem, where 
p = 0.001. In this way it is concluded that a favorable school social climate predisposes 
to a higher selfesteem in the students, optimizing both their academic performance and 
Their relationships with their school peers, teachers and institutional authorities. This 
allows to say that developing a positive social school climate allows students to improve 
their self-esteem.
